Thondam did respond to a PM I sent him about Item Box Settings and this was what he wrote.

Nah, I don't play anymore. Unfortunately I had to give up MK because of irl issues. Anyway this list is from, like, the middle of last year, but I hope it helps =03.

Setting 1 = ???
Setting 2 = Items
Setting 3 = Triple Items
Setting 4 = Item Box Respawn / Timing Lottery
setting 5 = ???


Items (Setting 2)

000A000A = Mega
000B000B = TC
000C000C = Star
000D000D = Lottery Green Shell, finishing by a Shroom
000E000E = Lottery Green Shell, finishing by a Shroom
000F000F = Lottery Green Shell, finishing by a Shroom
00000000 = Random, the good MKW order.
00010001 = Banana
00020002 = Shroom
00030003 = Triple Shroom
00040004 = Star
00050005 = Green Shell
00060006 = Lottery Banana, finishing by a Shroom
00070007 = Green Shell
00080008 = Bomb
00090009 = Red Shell
00100010 = Shroom
00110011 = Freeze the game
00120012 = Freeze the game
00130013 = Freeze the game
000C000A = Lottery Shroom finishing by a Star

Triple Items (Setting 3)

00ZZ00ZZ
ZZ = value of the triple item(0x05 for 3Xgreens, 0x09 for 3Xreds, 0x01 for 3X'nanas)

Item Box Respawn / Timing Lottery (Setting 4)

00XX00YY
XX = timing of item roulette(smaller value = short roulette)
YY = Item Box respawn time(smaller value = quicker respawn)

XXXXYYYY
XXXX = Route (will be ignored by an itembox)
YYYY = Related to route point and speed. also sets appearance time (the bigger the value is, the longer it will take for a flamepole to start operating) (will be ignored by an itembox)

It's significant for the itemboxes which in a linear (x, y, or z) or circular path.

We missed the golden shroom code, however, maybe someone did extract the mario raceway competition, so we can read it.

Think about some other characteristics Item Boxes have? Maybe movement speed? Or size?

no, it's one of the standard object settings, almost all objects have that setting (3F).

Some have 09 and 1B, but they don't seem to do anything with any object.
